Stylish And Cool Baby Product Reviews

Newborn Tips#1: Don't Hush-A-Bye-Baby
You don't have to be quiet while the baby is sleeping. The womb is loud, and newborns are used to the noise. When ours first came home, we watched television and I would vacuum, wash dishes and talk on the phone around her while she slept. She got used to sleeping with noise, and I could get stuff done. I am still able to vacuum in her room while she sleeps (she is 14 months), and she is peaceful and well rested when she wakes up.
Newborn Tips#2: Soothe Your Wailing Newborn
When my baby cries, I comfort her by patting her back in a heartbeat-like rhythm. That helps her burp more quickly, and it also helps her relax if she's crying from insecurity. If this doesn’t work, I also try one or all of Dr. Harvey Karp's five calming moves: swaddling, shushing, holding her on her side, swinging her or letting her suck. Sometimes it takes all six!

Baby K'tan Baby Carrier

This baby carrier is much easier and quicker to use than the traditional wraps, as it is ready to wear and takes only a few steps. It can be be worn in several different positions – even accommodating twins, taking the place of different types and styles of carriers.

It works really well for breastfeeding and supports deeper bonding with baby and helps with emotional and physical development. The weight is distributed better than many of the other carriers out there, making it easy on your back and super comfy for mommy and baby, while providing lots of support. Trust me, all baby carriers are not created equal and once you try the Baby K'tan you will agree.

This carrier can hold up to forty pounds, so it is perfect for newborns and infants. The K'tan can be monogrammed and personalized for the baby and comes in five different sizes and a variety of colors. It is easy to wash, dry and take care of and did I mention it is affordable. A K'tan will cost you anywhere from fifty to seventy dollars each.

Tranquil Turtle from Cloud B

Hurray for the Tranquil Turtle. This is one of the coolest products I have seen in awhile, so unique, fun and useful. Tranquil Turtle is designed to soothe your little ones to sleep at night and is suitable for all ages. My husband loves it, often wanting it turned on for his afternoon nap – LOL.

The hard turtle shell projects blue, underwater effects in the room, while playing either a soothing melody or ocean sounds, requiring three AA batteries that are included. The effects are completely stunning, creating the perfect environment for meditation, sleep or just relaxing. It has a timer on it to turn off automatically after twenty three minutes, another feature that I love. Sometimes I will allow the time to tell me that my yoga session has ended, allowing me to put a child to bed, while conducting my evening yogi rituals.

I find this product to be extremely effective in helping the entire family to fall asleep, especially newborns and infants. I am going to have to invest in a few more tranquil turtles because everyone in the house wants their own. It is the perfect addition to a baby nursery and the perfect gift that keeps giving as the child grows up. A Tranquil Turtle costs around $54.95.

Udder Covers – For Nursing Mothers

I never knew the power of a boob, but whip one out and see what happens – LOL! Nursing covers are a must-have these days, especially in certain environments. I would love to be on Blue Lagoon island just as much as the next romantic, but for many women (myself included) breastfeeding in public is uncomfortable. Breastfeeding makes other people around you uncomfortable, more than you might be aware of. I must honestly admit though of my own deep seated modesty, a virtue said to come from the angels.

A nursing cover allows you to nurse discreetly, and saves the energy you normally would give to worrying about “boobs and stuff” for bonding with your baby, something that there can never be enough of. There are lots of nursing covers to choose from on the market these days. The reason I am so hooked on the Udder Cover is because they are really comfortable, easy to wash, stylish and work well to create a one-on-one environment with baby because it provides privacy between the two of you. For myself, eye contact is priceless and I can see how my baby is feeling when nursing and baby can see me. Many of the other nursing covers do not allow you to see baby easily. The fabric is very lightweight cotton and does not heat me or baby up, the way some of the other covers did and folds up nicely in diaper bag or purse. It makes the perfect gift for showers and new moms in the hospital.

Newborn Tips#3: Help Get Your Baby to Latch
If you are having latch-on issues while breastfeeding your baby, you can use breast shields to help the process. This was a wonderful tip that I learned from my lactation consultant. I had to use the shields for an entire month before my baby would latch onto my own nipple without them. Had it not been for the breast shields, I would not have been able to continue nursing my baby.
Newborn Tips#4: Get Prepped
At 3 weeks, babies’ days and nights become more predictable, and you can focus on yourself in addition to your newborn. One way to do that is by reducing your stress level - and having everything ready for your hungry baby and yourself is one way to do that. Start by prepping for the next feeding as soon as the previous one is over. For example, after an 11 p.m. feeding, get ready for the 2 a.m. one by prepping whatever you need for feeding and putting out fresh drinking water for yourself so you don’t have anything to think about in the middle of the night. During the day, take advantage of the baby’s naps to work out, shower or catch up on e-mail, or take a nap too.

I received the gift set from Udder Covers. It includes a print nursing cover, 2 pairs of Udder Covers 5 ply washable breast pads and Black Milk Bands nursing bracelet. The breast pads are so soft and absorbent. I have not really used the nursing bracelet yet. My baby lets me know when it is feeding time. My breasts let me know whose turn it is.

Throwing a baby shower is a fun way of sharing your joy about the new arrival in your friend's life with others. Communities like the military are holding baby showers to make expectant mothers feel special while their husbands are overseas. Nevada's largest baby shower was held this month, where over a hundred mothers-to-be opened gifts. It was a first for Operation Homefront, an organization which supports military families. There are many elements in planning a successful baby shower, but the starting point is the invitations. These are what your guests will see even before they attend your party, so you should try to make this first impression as striking as possible. Atlas 2-IN-1 & Cinch Wrap

Getting your body back can be tough even for the healthiest of pregnancies. Gone are the days when you would have to do a million sit-ups, a zillion crunches and hours of yoga a day to get your pre-preggo body back. I was introduced to belly wrapping years ago, when studying the different cultural labor and delivery methods. The ancient art of belly wrapping has been done for centuries in certain cultures to help women regain their pre-pregnancy waist lines naturally. It can be difficult and time consuming to practice belly wrapping though, without a seasoned understanding of the science.

A growing number of women in the western hemisphere of the globe are now binding following childbirth thanks Charlene Williams, who has designed these revolutionary belly wraps. These products have worked for me … almost like a miracle … a Godsend to many mothers out there. When mom feels good about herself, she will be happier and pass this vibration onto baby. Happy mother equals happy baby. It is that simple. No one else has belly bands like this. The Anew belly bands typically cost anywhere from $50 – $100.

The Atlas 2-IN-1

A transitional band that is a pregnancy band with a postpartum accessory band. The Atlas is easily transformed into a full post-pardum band, back support and hip-shaper. Your recovery to your pre-baby body begins before you even give birth during the third trimester. It comes with a cold/warm compress that you can insert into pocket for soothing the lower back. It is easy to adjust the size and fit, giving great support making it super comfy. Adjustable, your Atlas will shrink right along with your waist.

Pros

Use while pregnant and after deliveryBack supportHip-shaperCold/warm compress option, compress includedEasy to adjust

Cons

Comfort levels differ for all womenNot as luxurious as the Cinch Wrap

Cinch Wrap

The Cinch Tummy Wrap postpartum wrap is also a hip-shaper and back support. It is made with luxurious sheer fabric and makes me feel so glamorous when I where it. If you have already given' birth, you will want to start with the Cinch, but if you already have an Atlas you will not need one. This Cinch is recommended by doctors and midwives worldwide.

Pros

Cons

My prediction is that the Cinch will soon be given to all new moms by hospitals across the globe. For more information please visit thebandspecialist site.

Newborn Tips#5: Keeping Your Baby Awake During Feedings
When our baby was eating slowly and sleepily, my husband and I would massage her cheek to stimulate her to eat faster. A gentle stroke with a fingertip on her cheek was all it took, and on those long sleepless nights, this simple trick was a godsend! Our friends have found it works great with their infants too. When babies eat efficiently until they're full before going to sleep, they sleep for longer between feedings. And that means you’re both likely to be calmer!
Newborn Tips#6: Help Your Baby Bond with Dad
Make sure your baby has ample time alone with Daddy. His touch and voice are different than yours, and this will begin a bonding process and give you a break. Plus, it gets the baby used to being with someone other than you. The first few times can be hard. Make sure your baby is fed and well rested, as this will give you at least one or two hours before you're needed again. Then leave Dad and the baby alone. If you stay nearby, make sure the baby can’t see or hear you, and resist the urge to go into the room and "fix" things if she starts crying. Your baby cries with you and you experiment to find out what's wrong. Dads need time to do this too - in their own way. By allowing this time, your child will learn there is more than one way to receive comfort, which will help immensely when you leave your baby with a sitter or another family member for the first time. You could have your partner bathe her, put her to bed or just read or talk to her.
